January 16, 2010 (El Cajon) -- Grossmont College Hyde Art Gallery presents “Connectivity,” a showing by artist Miya Hannan, from January 25-February 25. An opening event in honor of the artist will be on Tuesday, February 5th, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

“This very beautiful installation at once puts the viewer in harmony with its ethereal imagery and fluid compositions,” a press release describing the display states. “From the stalagmite-like “shoots” to the hangings screens (that appear like large prayer flags), there is a spirituality that prevails.”

The artist aims to connect elements of life and death, “enabling us to transcend our pedestrian view of living and dying as being disconnected and fearful aspects to our existence.”

Gallery hours are: Monday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Gallery is CLOSED Friday to Sunday and legal Holidays. Admission is free.

Parking is available during the exhibition with the purchase of a permit from the vending machine in lot #1F. Complimentary parking is available ONLY on the evening of the opening in lot #1. Vehicles must be parked in designated parking stalls.

The Gallery is located in the 200 Building Main Quad.
