March 3, 2019 (Santee) -- 1000 Lights, a water lantern festival company specializing in events for families, will host a festival at Santee Lakes on March 23 from 4 to 8 p.m.  Thousands of attendees will launch their lanterns at 7 p.m., just after dusk, to enjoy an incredible view of the water.

The event also includes live music, field games, food trucks, vendors, and bingo prices ranging from TVs to tablet computers.

All ages are welcome to participate. Some will write their hopes and wishes, and others will commemorate loved ones that are no longer with us.

This is the company’s second event in San Diego County, following a recent event at Chollas Lake.

Zach Wertz, event creative director with 1000 Lights said, “One of my favorite parts of my job is seeing families and friends enjoy quality time and creating incredible memories that they will remember for a long time.” Many individuals flood social media platforms with beautiful pictures with family and friends during and after the event.

Kids, ages 9 and under, can enter the event for free; and field games.
