February 23, 2014 (Lakeside)- Nestled along Maine Street in Lakeside, Krisarahs shop opened its doors on November 29th to share heartwarming antique, vintage and collectible items, natural body care products and more.

Krisarahs, once a dream held by owner Nanci Lynn Hallahan, has turned into a reality this past year with operational help from her daughter, Sarah Espiritu. Nanci dedicated the store’s name, Krisarahs, to an amalgamation of her two daughters, Sarah and Kristasl Roque.

When asked why she decided after so many years to finally open this family- operated shop filled with an eclectic array of treasures, Nanci said, “I like to create, and God called us to do this.”

Nanci and her self-proclaimed “American Picker” husband (inspired by the reality TV show), have personally collected almost all of the antique items, though some came in on consignment.

Sarah personally hand picks all women’s wear, such as the large array of elegant drape scarves with bursting colors and animal prints that add flare to any outfit.

Sarah captures the historic country essence of the Lakeside rodeo town by offering hand embellished cowboys hats, along with fashionable woman’s insignia hats. Krisarahs  also proudly has on display delicate hand-crafted quartz and turquoise jewelry along with other jewelry.

The historical building that Krisarahs now occupies at 9918 Maine Ave  in Lakeside (between Parkside Street & Lakeshore Drive) has been renovated with care. It currently has two large show rooms filled with such antique items as furniture, glassware, antique china sets, hand-made signs, and hand-made jewelry.

There are also some unusual pieces, such as a 19th century yarn spinner and a wooden mule saddle.

Kristal  helps with behind the scene activities and hand-painted signs are created by Nanci's daughter-in-law, Vena Hallahan.

Nanci also believes in promoting a healthy mind and body through her sale of the natural, non-toxic organic “La Soy” candle line, organic soaps, and body sprays.

If you are looking for personalized interior design ideas, good ole’ American Picker antiques and other goods to satisfy the “home-body-soul,” as the shop’s motto promises, you’ll find it all at Krisarahs –along with the warm family help that Nanci and her daughter Sarah offer all their guests.
