September 14, 2012 (Julian)--For the 43rd year, Julian celebrates the end of summer with music.  The Julian Music Festival will be held on September 15 from 12 noon to 9 p.m. This year brings a change in location to the Menghini Winery.

Originally this festival was a banjo fiddle competition, and more recently known as the Julian Bluegrass Festival.  Now in its 40th year, the Festival expands to offer not only bluegrass, but an Americana mix of Western ballads and classic folk music. This year, an evening dance under the stars from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. is also new--so bring your dancing shoes and plan to kick up your heels.

Along with Music we also have a variety of vendors. In case you're hungry the Julian Lion's Club has that covered with their food concession. Their menu of Bratwurst, BBQ Chicken, Nachos, and drinks is bound to satisfy anyone.

The new location better serves physically challenged attendees with easy parking and a level ground for walking and  also provides a park like environment for people with kids and dogs.

Feel free to bring your own lawn chairs, umbrellas and blankets to enjoy the festival.  You are also welcome to bring coolers with your own beverages and food even though both are available for purchase at the festival.

Menghini Winery is located at 1150 Julian Orchard Road two miles west of town on Farmers Road (which starts as Main street in Julian).,
