 Iraqi pilots who have joined Islamic State in Syria are training members of the group to fly in three captured fighter jets, a group monitoring the war said on Friday, saying it was the first time the militant group had taken to the air.  

Britain warns of 'exceptionally high' level of anti-terrorism activity (Reuters)

British police are carrying out security investigations at an "exceptionally high" pace not seen in years to disrupt potentially deadly plots directed from abroad, notably Syria… Mark Rowley, Britain's national policing spokesman for counter-terrorism, said the police had made 218 arrests so far this year while dozens of vulnerable people were also being referred to de-radicalisation programs.

Were jihadists training in a French park? (CS Monitor)

 Residents in the eastern French city of Strasbourg were alarmed this week when they saw a group of “apprentice jihadists” training in a park using fake weapons, according to police.  Police were called to the scene by local residents who said they witnessed “bearded men dressed in djellabas” participating in combat practice in the park, according to The Local, an English-language digital news outlet inFrance.  Upon arrival officers were greeted with cries of “infidels” and the group’s leader said they were training to “avenge the deaths of their Muslim brothers” before telling police they “would burn in hell,” according to RTL Radio.

Nearly 500 new FGM cases identified

(BBC) -- NHS figures show 467 newly identified cases of girls and women needing treatment after female genital mutilation in England last month. /A further 1,279 people, who had already been identified, were receiving treatment according to the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) data.
