September 19, 2017 (San Diego’s East County) --  Adrienne Koroly had his Lexus parked outside his home in Morena Valley. On Saturday morning , he drove from Morena Valley to his parents home on San Vicente Blvd in the Casa De Oro area of Spring Valley. When he stepped out, he heard meowing—not a typical engine purr.

He realized that a cat had sneaked into the vehicles engine area when he was parked in Morena Valley.  For three days,  he and his parents tried to coax the cat out of the car.

With no luck removing the cat, Koroly visited San Miguel Fire Districts Station 15 and asked for assistance.

Truck 15 arrived on the scene. The firefighters observed the cat lodged under the engine compartment of the vehicle.

Firefighters used airbags to lift the car and disassemble parts of the Lexus. They then climbed under the vehicle to dislodge what turned out to be a tiny gray, white and black feral kitten.

The kitten was greasy from its three day car ride from Morena Valley to Spring Valley while lodged in the engine compartment of the Lexus.

San Diego County Animal Services assisted in saving the kitten, and gave the kitten a clean bill of health.

The next door neighbor adopted the kitten.

Firefighters named the tiny gray, black and white feral kitten “Lexus” in honor of the vehicle from he was rescued.
