IN-KO-PAH 2: MUSIC UNDER THE STARS AT DESERT VIEW TOWER MAY 2

April 6, 2015 (In-Ko-Pah)—The second annual In-Ko-Pah classic desert concert will be held  on May 2nd .   This outdoor high-desert concert will be held at the Desert View Tower, a state historical monument perched on a rocky hillside overlooking the Anza-Borrego Desert. The In-Ko-Pah offers music lovers and naturalists alike a chance to experience an overnight event within our Southwest region.

You will need a ticket to attend this event and sales are available online. Ticket sales are limited to 300 participants to ensure an intimate setting.

Tickets cost $35 per adult before April 1st, 2014 (pre-sale) and $45 per adult afterwards. A ticket includes admittance to all In-Ko-Pah events as well as access to the campgrounds. The In-Ko-Pah takes place rain or shine. Tickets are for sale at Brown Paper Tickets.

All attendees must be 21+. Adolescents aged 12-20 are NOT permitted. No exceptions. Children 11 and younger are permitted, free of charge, and must be accompanied by a ticketed adult. No babysitting services will be provided.

Attendees should arrive between 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. on Saturday May 2nd. The gates will shut at 6:30 p.m. Attendees will not be admitted after 6:30 p.m. Entertainment will begin at 6:00 p.m. and progress well into the night. The event ends on Sunday, May 3rd, with all attendees leaving the site by 11:00 a.m.

Bring a tent, sleeping bag, and camp overnight. This is a “Bring-Your-Own" event and there are few, if any, stores proximal to the site. Attendees should pack in all of their provisions, including food, and refreshments. Campsites are provided to ticketed attendees on a first-come-first-serve basis. There are sufficient spaces for all. Campers are requested to follow general pack-in, pack-out courtesy. Campfires will be provided at designated locations within the event. Restrooms are provided. No fires are allowed at individual campsites. Stoves approved for backcountry usage will be allowed within designated areas.

A limited number of RV sites are available at an additional cost. Please contact the organizers to arrange for this prior to arriving at the site via email to: org@inkopah.org.

Guest should bring sufficient food and refreshments to support themselves and their friends for the duration of the event. Coolers are welcome.  No beverages will be sold. Water is a must and while tap water is available, attendees should come prepared with ample quantities of drinking water.

In-Ko-Pah will happen on the grounds of the Desert View Tower near Jacumba Hot Springs, aceessed via In-Ko-Pah Park Road off I-8. It is an easy one-hour drive from San Diego. Carpooling is highly encouraged. The site is located in the high-mountain desert at 2,800+ feet. While beautiful, it can get hot during the daytime (average 80 °F) and outright cool at night (average low 45 °F). Sunset will occur at 7:30 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:00 a.m.so most attendees will miss the glare of the sun. That being said, you are encouraged to bring sunscreen, camping gear rated to 40-50 °F and warm clothing for your late night adventures. Sleeping bags are key. Being high in the mountains, the site is prone to strong winds so please come prepared.

Wristbands are provided once you enter the In-Ko-Pah site. Each guest MUST wear his/her wristband securely at all times during the event. They are non-transferable and non-exchangeable.

• Bicycles, Skateboards, Scooters, or Personal Motorized Vehicles

• Pets (with permission only - please email org@inkopah.org)

• No Unauthorized/Unlicensed Vendors Allowed

• No Unauthorized Solicitations, Handbills, Sampling, or Give-Aways

In-Ko-Pah is a fun, happy, and safe event. It is about mutual respect and sharing with all. Aggressive behavior will not be tolerated. Fighting or provoking of any kind will not be accepted - this includes violent dancing and stage behavior. In addition, climbing, while it may seem enticing, is not allowed. Attendees should not climb trees and must stay off the rocks at all times.
