MAN STRANDED IN CULVERT IN SPRING VALLEY RESCUED

May 7, 2017 (Spring Valley) - A man was rescued after being stranded in a culvert in Spring Valley thanks to today's rainstorm clung to shrubs and a fence while fast-moving water rushed below him, Fox 5 reports.

The man was stranded at 8911 Troy Street around 4:15 p.m. when a swift-water rescue team found him.  The rescue took all of 20 minutes.  Crews detached a chain-link fence from an overpass in order to reach the man.

The man was completely fine with no injuries and did not need medical attention, according to Cal Fire.
