July 22, 2011 (Jamul) – The Deerhorn Valley Antler reports heavy Sheriff and Police presence throughout the Jamul area today due to a motorcycle gang rivalry.

“There are units from San Diego, La Mesa, El Cajon, Vista, Oceanside,” the Antler reported, adding that undercover units are also in the area.

Units are positioned from the corner of Jamacha & 94 all the way past the post office and up Lyons Valley and Skyline, the Antler indicated,  to monitor a motorcycle gang, the Mongols, camping in the vicinity.

The Antler cited a source at a local school who indicated the activity is because “the Monguls are in the Hell's Angels territory.” Authorities indicate they will remain through the weekend monitoring the gang, which numbers around 300, until they leave Jamul.

The Antler editor advises, “So don't go riding your Harley this weekend wearing the wrong color.”
