October 14, 2017 (Riverside) - Running the fastest 5K of her collegiate career, senior Lily Seynaeve led San Diego State cross country to a seventh-place finish at the Highlander Invitational, hosted by UC Riverside’s AgOps Course, Saturday.

October 14, 2017 (San Diego) - The San Diego State rowing team spent Saturday morning racing in the Row for the Cure on Mission Bay, where they logged first place finishes in both the open eight and open four categories. The annual event, hosted by UC San Diego, raises funds and awareness for Susan G. Komen San Diego.

October 14, 2017 (Colorado Springs) - San Diego State got behind early and had its rally fall short in a 2-1 road loss at Colorado College Friday afternoon at Stewart Field. The defeat dropped the Aztecs to 6-7-2 overall and 3-2-2 in the Mountain West, while the Tigers moved to 5-6-4 (2-3-2 MW).

October 12, 2017 (Alberquerque) - The San Diego State volleyball team picked up its first conference road victory of the season Thursday with an inspired four-set triumph over New Mexico (20-25, 25-23, 25-16, 27-25) in a Mountain West clash at Johnson Center.

October 11, 2017 (San Diego) - Current San Diego State softball senior Alex Formby, and SDSU graduates Ashley Ercolano and Frankie Orlando earned NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2016-17 academic year, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) recently announced. To be considered for the award, the student-athletes must have earned a 3.5 grade-point average or higher for the academic year.

October 8, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State’s Rafael Gonzalez Almazan (Madrid, Spain) captured the Flight 2 singles championship at the Aztec Fall Invitational Sunday at Aztec Tennis Center.

The SDSU sophomore defeated Liberty’s Eddie Gutierrez by a 6-4, 6-2 count to highlight the final day of competition for the Scarlet and Black in its only home event of the fall tournament schedule.

October 8, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State for the second time in three days settled for a double-overtime draw, this time tying Fresno State, 1-1, Sunday afternoon at SDSU Sports Deck. The Aztecs are now 6-6-2 and 3-1-2 in the Mountain West, while the Bulldogs leave Montezuma Mesa with a 6-5-3 record (1-3-2 MW).

October 8, 2017 (Corvallis, Ore.) - The San Diego State men’s soccer team suffered a 2-0 setback against Oregon State at Lorenz Field on Sunday. The Aztecs fall to 4-8-0 (0-4-0 Pac-12) on the season, while the Beavers notch their first conference win of the season and improve to 4-7-0 (1-2-0 Pac-12).

October 7, 2017 (Fresno) - The San Diego State swimming and diving team capped a strong weekend performance, finishing the Chick-fil-A Invitational in second place (677 points) among five teams on Saturday afternoon. The Aztecs finished ahead of four Mountain West programs, topping Nevada (654.5), Fresno State (518), and San Jose State (460), while 2016-17 national runner-up Cal recorded 1318.5 points to bring home first-place honors.

October 6, 2017 (Lakeside) - ECM Friday Night Lights is back after a two-week hiatus with our first-ever trip to Lakeside as the Foothillers of Grossmont (3-2 overall) made the trip out to visit the Vaqueros of El Capitan (2-3 overall) in both teams’ first matchup of Grossmont League play.

October 6, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State and San Jose State played an exciting 110 minutes, but neither team scored as the game ended in a 0-0 draw. The result kept the Aztecs (6-6-1) and Spartans (6-5-1) knotted at 3-1-1 in the Mountain West, which is tied for third in the league standings with Wyoming and two points behind the conference leader New Mexico.

October 6, 2017 (San Diego) - The San Diego State men’s tennis team made its home debut Friday at the 2017 Aztec Fall Invitational Friday, with 10 of the squad’s 11 players seeing action at Aztec Tennis Center.

Sophomore Rafael Gonzalez Almazan (Madrid, Spain) and redshirt freshman Daniel de la Torre (Calexico, Calif.) were the big winners on opening day of SDSU’s annual tournament, posting two victories apiece in singles competition, while each emerged triumphant in doubles.

October 6, 2017 (Fresno) - The San Diego State swimming and diving team recorded a strong first day at the Chick-fil-A Invitational at Fresno State University, capturing 443 points for a second-place standing. The Aztecs only trail 2016-17 national runner-up Cal, who leads the pack with 879 points.

October 5, 2017 (Seattle) - The San Diego State fell to No. 22-ranked Washington, 3-0, on Thursday night. The Aztecs now stand at 4-7-0 (0-3-0 Pac-12), while the nationally-ranked Huskies improve to 9-2-0 (2-0-0 Pac-12) and extend their win streak to six.

October 5, 2017 (Malibu) - The San Diego State women’s swimming and diving team took a 133-74 decision against Pepperdine at Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool on Thursday afternoon.

“We mixed it up a bit today. We tried different athletes in different races,” said head coach Mike Shrader. “It provides a little bit of variety, and with the team having a lot of individual medley swimmers, that will hopefully make them stronger going forward.”
