May 10, 2016 (San Diego) -- Caltrans construction crews will close all lanes on northbound Interstate 805 (I-805) from La Jolla Village Drive to Interstate 5 (I-5) Tuesday from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. to restripe lanes.

Northbound I-805 motorists will be detoured to westbound State Route 52 (SR-52) to northbound I-5.  The northbound I-805 Nobel Drive and Governor Drive exits will remain open to local traffic.

Stage 1 of the I-805 North Express Lanes Project is constructing one carpool lane in each direction in the median of I-805 from just north of SR-52 to just north of Mira Mesa Boulevard. The project also includes construction of a south-facing Direct Access Ramp at Carroll Canyon Road.  The construction cost for Stage 1 is about $86 million and is funded with state, federal and local sources, including the Proposition 1B State – Local Partnership Program and TransNet Extension funds.
