July 12, 2018 (La Mesa) – Wine, beer and food aficionados will soon be able to cross a pedestrian and bike bridge connecting “restaurant row” in La Mesa’s downtown village to the wineries and breweries in an industrially-zoned area across Interstate 8.

Construction began July 5trh on the North Spring Pedestrian and Bicycle Improvements project, which is slated for completion in March 2019.  The project is funded with a federal Highway Safety Improvement program grant.

The project includes new pedestrian ramps, crosswalks, and traffic signal equipment.

Expected localized traffic congestion along Spring Street between Mills and Center streets due to construction activity.
