ARREST IN LA MESA MOTEL SHOOTING

September 5, 2009 (La Mesa) – Detectives from the East County Gang Task Force arrested Maurice White, a 23 year old black male from the City of Vista, on September 2 for the shooting at the Heritage Inn Motel that took place on August 23, 2009, in La Mesa.

Detectives received information from the San Diego County Probation Department that White may have been involved in the shooting after seeing the motel video which was aired by the media last week.

White was booked in SD County Jail for the following charges:

1) 664/187(a)PC Attempted Murder
2) 245(a)(2)PC Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Firearm
3) 186.22(b)(1)PC Participating in a Criminal Street Gang
