WATCH THE MOON RISE AND MORE: ASTRONOMY NIGHT ON MT. HELIX SEPT. 14

September 3, 2019 (Mt. Helix) – The San Diego Astronomy Association will be setting up telescopes in Mt. Helix Park on September 14 starting at 6 p.m. for free astronomical viewings.
“The SDAA looks forward to the annual Mt. Helix event. It is a unique venue and one dear to my heart, since I grew up in the shadow of that interesting mountain," says Dave Decker, San Diego Astronomy Association.
Park at the fire station at 10105 Vivera to take a free shuttle to the top of Mt. Helix, with lights turned off. Telescopes will be set up near the cross. If you are disabled and need assistance, call 619 741-4363.
Here are some the celestial sights you may observe: a nearly full moon rising, bright planets including Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, the constellations Sagittarius, Scorpius, Pegasus, Andromeda, and Cygnus, the Andromeda Galaxy, nebulas and more.
