PEDESTRIAN, 82, INJURED BY VEHICLE

March 23, 2023 (El Cajon) – An 82-year-old man was struck by a Nissan Altima while crossing Greenfield Drive west of Oro Street in unincorporated El Cajon on March 21 at 7:20 p.m.

According to Officer Jared Grieshaber with the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian crossed directly in front of a Nissan Altima drive by a 42-year-old woman.  “The driver of the Nissan was unable to see the pedestrian,” he said.

The pedestrian was struck and assisted by bystanders until medical personnel arrived.  The pedestrian suffered major injuries. The driver of the Nissan did not suffer injuries. 

The driver of the Nissan remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.  Alcohol and/or drugs were not believed to be a factor in this crash.
