FATAL PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT IN EL CAJON

October 17, 2023 (El Cajon)— 
A 2016 black Kia Soul struck the pedestrian at the intersection of East Main Street and Roanoke Road. El Cajon Police officers and paramedics responded at 6:21 a.m.. An officer provided CPR on the woman, who was unresponsive, until medics arrived and transported her to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The victim’s identity will be released by the County Medical Examiner after notification of family. The driver remained on scene; alcohol and drugs are not considered factors in the accident.
The El Cajon Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding the collision to call (619) 579-3311. The department also reminds those who walk to obey all traffic control devices, only cross the street at designated, controlled intersections, and wear bright or light-colored clothing for visibility.
