February 20, 2011 (La Mesa)-- On February 19, around 6:08 P.M., La Mesa Police Officers responded to a report of a robbery at 70th Street and Alvarado Road. The victim, a 33-year-old man, reported being robbed while crossing the street. As he stood on the center median waiting for traffic to clear, he was approached by the suspect, who told the victim he had a gun and demanded money.

The victim gave the suspect approximately $7 and walked away from the suspect towards the Shell station, located at 5151 70th Street. The suspect followed the victim into the Shell parking lot, shouting at the victim.

The victim stopped near a Ford Ranger in the parking lot that was occupied by a woman, 49. The suspect turned towards the Ford Ranger and began yelling at the female, again stating that he had a gun. The suspect then punched the driver side window of the Ford Ranger. The window shattered and the suspect walked away.

The suspect was last seen walking east on Alvarado Road from the Shell station. No one was injured and no gun was seen.

The suspect is described as a white man, 20-25 years old, 6 feet tall, 180-200 pounds. He was cleanshaven and wore a black and brown plaid shirt or jacket, blue jeans and a black baseball cap with white letters “DC”.
