May 21, 2011 (San Diego’s East County) – If you see smoke, don't panic! Heartland Fire is conducting controlled burns today in East County.

Our thanks to a reader from Alpine who called us after seeing smoke. Cal-Fire spokesman Mike Mohler has confirmed that Heartland Fire is conducting several burns; smoke is visible over much of East County.
