Update September 10:  Boil water orders will remain in effect until Sunday, health officials report.  The order applies to all water consumed including water for brushing teeth, ice cubes or cleaning vegetables.  Adults may shower, but infants or toddlers should be sponge-bathed with clean water. You do not need to boil water used for washing clothes in a washing machine. Due to the recent power outage, these public water systems lost pressure in the water distribution system. As a precaution, Boil Water Orders are being issued until laboratory results show the water is free from bacterial contamination. The Boil Water Orders will remain in effect until the distribution systems have been disinfected and samples confirm the absence of bacteria in the water supply.
