December 8, 2011 (Santee) – The Santee Post Office shut down briefly yesterday after an 83-year-old driver hit the gas pedal instead of the brakes while pulling into a handicapped parking space.

He jumped the curb, striking a pillar supporting an overhang on the building with his SUV. According to Santee Patch, the man narrowly missed hitting a woman and child. The driver, who was not injured, was issued a notice of re-examination for his license through the DMV.
