April 27, 2023 (San Diego's East County) - Caltrans construction crews will close a series of off-ramps in East County, beginning Friday, April 28 through Thursday, May 3 for wrong-way driver pavement marking configuration, including recessed markers, according to Caltrans.

October 6, 2022 (Ramona) - Maintenance crews continue brush removal efforts on a 4-mile stretch of State Route 78 (SR-78) from Ramona Highlands Road to State Route 67 in Ramona from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday, Oct. 14, according to Caltrans. Crews will reduce SR-78 to one lane—one mile at a time—to minimize the impact to commuter traffic.

July 11, 2022 (San Diego) - Caltrans construction crews will close freeway connectors, on-ramps, off-ramps, three inside lanes of westbound Interstate 8 (I-8) and all lanes of eastbound I-8 in Mission Valley for 2 miles from Interstate 5 (I-5) to State Route 163 (SR-163) on Tuesday, July 12 to Thursday, July 14, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. 

Motorists advised to allow additional travel time for lane closures and detours

June 3, 2022 (El Cajon) - Construction crews will reduce lanes on Interstate 8 (I-8) at State Route 67 (SR-67)/Magnolia Avenue Monday through Wednesday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for ongoing electrical work, according to Caltrans. At least one lane will remain open for traffic. The work is part of the I-8/SR-67 Bridge Repair Project.

May 1, 2022 (San Diego's East County) - A mile-long section of State Route 67 (SR-67) from Poway Road to Mina De Oro Road will be reduced to one lane Sunday through Wednesday nights at 9 until 5 the following morning, according to Caltrans.

July 15, 2021 (Ramona) - Crews will begin pavement microsurfacing operations on several small sections of State Route 67 (SR-67) in the community of Ramona for six consecutive nights beginning Sunday at 8 until 5 in the morning, according to Caltrans.

June 23, 2021 (Campo) -- Caltrans crews anticipate closures at Interstate 8 (I-8) and Crestwood Road in Campo for four weeks beginning Tuesday, July 6 to replace guardrail systems. The work will require full closures of the westbound I-8/Crestwood Road on-ramp and the eastbound I-8/Crestwood Road off-ramp near the Golden Acorn Casino, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through early August. June 5, 2021 (Dulzura/Spring Valley) - Caltrans crews continue pavement rehabilitation this week on a nine-mile section of State Route 94 (SR-94) from just west of Arnold Road to State Route 188 in eastern San Diego County.

All lanes of eastbound SR-94 from I-805 to SR-125 closed 5 a.m. - 4 p.m.

May 13, 2021 (San Diego) -- This week, Governor Gavin Newsom announced a $1.5 billion investment over the next three years for litter collection, community engagement and support of local artists to beautify California’s highways and main streets. His announcement comes as Caltrans crews prepare for the third consecutive closure and cleanup along State Route 94 (SR-94) this weekend. These efforts are consistent with the goals in Governor Newsom's California Comeback Plan to clean California.

July 28, 2019 (San Diego’s East County) - Motorists are advised to watch for full connector closures along Interstate 8 (I-8) in the mountain areas of eastern San Diego County weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for pavement work, according to Caltrans. Full closures will take place at one intersection at a time in the coming week as follows:

February 28, 2019 (San Diego) -- Starting Thursday, February 28, at 9:30 p.m., and running through Friday, March 1, at 5 a.m., all southbound lanes on Interstate 5 (I-5) will be closed to vehicular traffic  from the interchange of I-5 and Interstate 805 to La Jolla Village Drive.

May 17, 2018 (San Diego) --  Construction crews will close all lanes of northbound State Route 163 (SR-163) between Interstate 8 and Genesee Avenue Monday, Tuesday and possibly Wednesday night from 11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. The closure is needed so can remove the bridge abutments on the Friars Road overcrossing including the sign panels. The work closure includes the possibility of closing all lanes of southbound SR-163, within the same project limits, Wednesday night from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. At no time will the freeway close in both directions at the same time. The work is part of the SR-163 Friars Road Interchange Project.

May 22, 2017 (San Diego) - Construction crews will close the northbound State Route 15 (SR-15) connector ramp to eastbound and westbound Interstate 8 (I-8) on Sunday from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Monday, according to Caltrans. The closure is needed for construction on the SR-15 Commuter Bikeway Project.

July 21, 2016 (San Diego) - Construction crews will close northbound State Route 67 (SR-67) from Winter Gardens Boulevard to Lakeside Avenue and southbound SR-67 from Lakeside Avenue to Mapleview Street Friday, July 22, and Saturday, July 23 from nine at night until 11 the following morning. Mapleview Street at SR-67 will also be closed intermittently during these hours. Motorists are advised to expect delays and to avoid the area if possible.
