September 30, 2014 (San Diego’s East County)--Once again, East County Magazine will be bringing home multiple awards in the San Diego Press Club’s 2014 Excellence in Journalism competition.

Congratulations to this year’s winners representing East County Magazine’s online news site and radio show:

Our breaking news coverage team, Tom and Nadin Abbott; Intern Jessica Richmond, who worked on several major investigative news stories; father and son Mark and Cory Clement, co-hosts of our “Wildest Jobs in East County” feature on our radio show; Leon Thompson, who documented his recovery from quintuple bypass surgery; and East County Magazine Editor Miriam Raftery.

We don’t yet know how many awards we will receive, or all of the categories, since only the names of the winners have been announced thus far.  The winning entries will be announced at the annual Press Club awards ceremony on October 28th at Jacobs Center.

East County Magazine has previously received 69 journalism awards since beginning our news publication in 2008.
