SHERIFF RELEASES SKETCH OF SUSPECT WANTED IN POWAY SEXUAL ASSAULT

April 19, 2012 (Poway) – San Diego Sheriff seeks public help to locate a suspect wanted for sexually assaulting a 44-year-old woman on April 16 at 10:06 p.m. in the 12400 block of Vaughan Road.

The vicitim told deputies she was walking when a man grabbed her and tried to force her into to a nearby drainage ditch. She fought back, holding on to a chain-linked fence, but the man threatened her with a knife.

He forced her to the ground and sexually assaulted her. The woman then kicked him and broke free. 

He was last seen running west on Vaughan Road. Sheriff's Deputies from the Poway Station responded with Sheriff's ASTREA and K-9s, but could not locate the suspect.

The woman describes her attacker as a Hispanic man, possibly in his 20s, with short hair, goatee and wearing a white dirty t-shirt and dark sweatpants.

The man is considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, please do not approach him.
