August 6, 2021 (Washington D.C.) --  U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has begun outfitting an initial group of agents and officers with body-worn cameras to better enhance its policing practices and reinforce trust and transparency.

BORDER PATROL SEIZES MORE COUNTERFEIT AND UNAPPROVED COVID-19 PRODUCTS

June 6, 2020 (Washington D.C.) -- U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) continues to identify and seize a large number of counterfeit, unapproved or otherwise substandard COVID-19 products that threaten the health and safety of American consumers.

As of June 1, CBP had seized more than:

- 107,300 FDA-prohibited COVID-19 test kits in 301 incidents;

- 750,000 counterfeit face masks in 86 incidents;

- 2,500 EPA-prohibited anti-virus lanyards in 89 incidents; and

- 11,000 FDA-prohibited chloroquine tablets in 91 incidents.

BORDER PATROL AT OTAY CROSSING ARRESTS SUSPECT FROM 2007 DONUT SHOP SLAYING IN KENSINGTON

July 30, 2015 (Otay)--U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Otay Mesa port of entry Tuesday caught a man wanted by the San Diego Police Department for a 2007 homicide at Donut’s Plus in San Diego’s Kensington neighborhood.

BORDER PATROL SEIZES $8 MILLION IN DRUGS AT OTAY CROSSING

May 19, 2015 (Otay Mesa) --U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Otay Mesa ports of entry seized a total of $8.1 million worth of narcotics over the weekend, including an interception of more than six tons of marijuana that was stashed in a commercial shipment of furniture and over a half million dollars of heroin.

RECORD-BREAKING MARIJUANA SEIZURE AT OTAY: 15 TONS HIDDEN IN MATTRESS SHIPMENT

 

February 27, 2015 (Otay)--U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Otay Mesa cargo port of entry Thursday seized more than 15 tons of marijuana hidden in a cargo shipment of mattresses.  The seizure is the largest narcotics seizure ever at the border crossing, and second largest seizure at any border crossing nationwide.

Deadline to R.S.V.P. is Friday, March 16

March 14, 2012 (San Diego) – The U.S. Customs and Border Protection Citizen’s Academy is offering classes beginning March 24 to provide the community with information which will familiarize them with CBP’s mission and goals.  CBP is one of the Department of Homeland Security’s largest and most complex components, with a priority mission of keeping terrorists and their weapons out of the U.S.
