February 17, 2012 (San Diego)-- San Diego Police Department Robbery Unit detectives confirmed the arrest of Harvey Henry Duson, 45, in connection with the violent home invasion robbery that occurred last month at the Sandburg Avenue residence of former City Councilmember Harry Mathis.

February 12, 2012 (Santee)--The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), San Diego Police and San Diego Sheriff’s Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify an unknown man dubbed the “Insistent Bandit.” He is believed responsible for four bank robberies dating back to January 17.

POLICE INVESTIGATE INDECENT EXPOSURE NEAR SCHOOL

 

 
February 10, 2012 (San Diego)-- San Diego Police Department Mid-City Division detectives are looking for a Hispanic male suspected of exposing himself to two Hoover High School students as they walked home Wednesday afternoon.  
 
The girls were walking westbound on 3700 Orange Avenue when they passed the suspect’s vehicle parked at the curb.  The suspect then drove past the girls and, again, parked at the curb where they were would pass him.

POLICE ARREST TEEN, 16, FOR POINTING LASER AT HELICOPTER


February 4, 2012 (San Diego) - San Diego Police Department patrol officers from Southeastern Division have arrested a 16-year-old boy for pointing a laser at the police helicopter, ABLE. Such actions can put a pilot’s light in danger, since night vision goggles amplify light 30,000 times and the flash can be blinding.

January 24, 2011 (Allied Gardens) – A resident a 7300 Viar Avenue in Allied Gardens was locked in a closet during a home invasion robbery yesterday. According to Officer J. Jacobsen with San Diego Police, the two suspects entered through the kitchen door, one armed with a gun.

MISSING WOMAN FOUND SAFE

January 1, 2012 (Otay)—Josephina Lopez has been found safe in Mexico following an intensive search and rescue effort to find the missing woman.  Lopez, who suffers from medical problems, disappeared from the Otay area while visiting family over the holidays.  She had last been seen December 23, when she told family she was walking to a pharmacy.

November 20, 2011 (Encanto) – A man treated at Paradise Hospital for gunshot wounds to his back and arm told officers that he was shot late last night in the area of 66th and Herrick Street. According to the victim, two Hispanic males age 18-25 drove up to him in a gold Nissan Sentra. One of the occupants shot him several times.

SUSPECTED JEWEL THIEVES ARRESTED, LINKED TO BARONA CASINO ROBBERY

November 10, 2011 (San Diego) -- San Diego Police Department Robbery Unit detectives have arrested Ryan McKnight, 34, and Robert Chavira, 40, in connection with a series of robberies throughout California, according to Lt. Andra Brown at SDPD. These include the September 16 armed robbery at the Ben Bridge Jewelry in Mission Valley and the November 9 armed robbery at Barona Casino in Lakeside.

November 8, 2011 (San Diego)—Edward Ti Lee, 77, has been found safe.

"Mr. Lee became disoriented on his drive yesterday.  He was able to find his way home this morning shortly after the missing person bulletin was sent out," said Lieutenant Andra Brown with the San Diego Police Department.

SDPD OFFICER AMONG THOSE KILLED IN MULTI-CAR ACCIDENT ON I-15


October 1, 2011 (San Diego) – San Diego Police Officer Jason Prokop was struck and killed early this morning while attempting to come to the aid of a motorist after his vehicle struck a stopped car ahead of him. He was off duty at the time, said Lt. Andra Brown. A five-year veteran of the police force, Prokop was married and leaves behind a toddler and an infant, ECM News partner 10 News reports.

September 27, 2011 (San Diego’s East County) – San Diego Police seek a gunman who forced his way into a woman’s 2009 Toyota Prius (license 6CID140) last night and terrorized his victim for several hours. The victim, kidnapped at 700 University Ave. in Hillcrest at 9 p.m., was driven to El Cajon and forced to handover money from an ATM machine, ECM news partner 10 News reports.

FURNITURE OIL FUELS HOUSE FIRE IN TIERRASANTA

September 13, 2011 (Tierrasanta) –After treating patio furniture with teak oil on Sunday, a homeowner at 4608 Seda in Tierrasanta discarded the teak oil can in a trashcan. “A fire started in the trash can a few hours later and the homeowner was unable to put it out,” said Officer J. 2 ARRESTED IN EL CAJON AFTER VIOLENT ROBBERY; 3RD SUSPECT REMAINS AT LARGE

August 25, 2011 (El Cajon) – Two armed robbery suspects were arrested last night in the 1300 block of Peach Avenue in El Cajon following a high-speed chase. A third suspect is still outstanding, according to San Diego Police. The three suspects, all African-American, robbed a couple in their apartment at 4041 Oakcrest Drive in San Diego’s mid-city and pistol-whipped one of the victims.

August 20, 2011 (San Diego’s East County)-- San Diego Police Department Sex Crimes Unit detectives have arrested two suspects, a man and a woman, for the brutal abduction, beating and sexual assault of a female victim.  The victim, 21, was dumped naked along State Route 125 in Bonita, where she was rescued by motorists.

August 15, 2011 (City Heights) – Michael Anthony Gonzales, 43, has been arrested after attacking a police officer and two citizens who came to the officer’s aide. All three suffered stab wounds in the attacks, which occurred Saturday at 12:35 p.m. in the 4200 block of 43rd Street in City Heights.

August 5, 2011 (Boulevard)—San Diego Police ask the public’s help to locate Jerry Perez, 53, who was last seen July 15 at 6:30 a.m. on Pacific Highway in San Diego. His car, a 1996 white Honda Accord (CA license 3TDT884) was found July 15 at 8 a.m. abandoned on Interstate 8 in Boulevard, a half mile east of the La Posta Creek Bridge.

July 22, 2011 (Tierrasanta) – San Diego Police ask the public’s help to locate Kathryn “Kate” Kevern, 53, who told a friend she was going for a walk at 7:30 p.m. last night and would return within the hour, but never came back to the home at 4792 Calle de Vida. She has short brown hair and wears prescription glasses. She was last seen wearing a white straw hat and a full length green sundress.
