Creative Program Provides More Than 1,000 Low-Income Households with Solar Energy
 
April 29, 2012 (Sacramento) -- During the Green California Summit Leadership Awards Ceremony April 26 and 27, at the Sacramento Convention Center, the California Department of Community Services and Development (CSD) Solar For All California pilot program was honored with a 2012 Green California Leadership Award for energy innovation. The CSD program uses innovative funding solutions through federal funding, state rebates and creative partnerships to address unequal access to residential solar energy for low-income families.

NEARLY 44,000 LOW-INCOME HOMES WEATHERIZED IN CA--3 MONTHS AHEAD OF SCHEDULE

 
Reducing Energy Bills for Low-Income Families Across California

 
January 31, 2012  (Sacramento) -- The Department of Community Services and Development (CSD) today announced California has weatherized 43,530 low-income homes three months ahead of schedule under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP). This surpasses California’s original goal of weatherizing 43,150 homes by the end of March 2012.

Many aren’t aware of tax credit that can be claimed, County says

February 1, 2010 (San Diego)--The County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) has launched the 2010 Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) campaign, an effort to get more low-income families and individuals to take advantage of the federal government’s largest cash assistance program.
