SAN DIEGO MAYORAL CANDIDATES AGREE TO SIX DEBATES AHEAD OF FEBRUARY ELECTION

 

November 28, 2013 (San Diego) – Mayoral candidates and San Diego City Councilmembers David Alvarez and Kevin Faulconer announced a scheduling agreement for debates in the special runoff election campaign.

The agreement came after more than 30 debates and forums were scheduled in the eight-week primary election ending November 19, 2013. The top two finishers said they’ve agreed to participate in six debates to be held after the New Year.

September 6, 2012 (San Diego)-- Mayoral candidates Carl DeMaio and Congressman Bob Filner met at the Photographic Museum in Balboa Park in a lively debate hosted by Innovation Alliance, moderated by Erik Anderson of KPBS this week.

The candidates sparred over innovation, the arts and education issues, offering clear choices for voters.

Sept. 20, 2011- Congressman Bob Filner and Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher headlined the first mayoral debate of the 2012 election on Saturday.

 

The two major candidates who participated differed sharply on policies, goals, and visions for San Diego during the lively debate during Politifest, sponsored by Voice of San Diego in Liberty Station on Saturday.

August 21, 2011 (San Diego) – Abraham Lincoln and Stephen Douglas debated at county fairs and festivals. Outdoors and free to the public, Politifest 2011 recaptures that spirit. The event, set for Saturday September 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p..m. at Liberty Station in Pt. Loma, will include a mayoral debate, idea tournament, beer garden, civic booths, media celebrities and old-fashioned outdoor fun.
