October 28, 2014 (La Mesa)—The Om Center for Spiritual Living in La Mesa is holding its second Thanksgiving Health Faire and Open House, Saturday, Nov. 15th, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The La Mesa community is invited to the Center at 7232 University Ave., just east of Massachusetts. Admission is free.

The Thanksgiving Health Faire and Open House will feature demonstrations on how to achieve better health and fitness, craft exhibits, as well as seminars with experts who will offer solutions to life issues and everyday challenges. There will be drawings for prizes, a 50-50 raffle and food from our Om members will be offered.

The Health Faire and Open House will give local residents the opportunity to learn more about the Om Center for Spiritual Living, which is part of a 75-year-old organization with over 400 centers worldwide. There are spiritual centers throughout the U.S., Europe, Asia, and the eastern bloc of nations, including Russia. OM Center is a non-denominational spiritual center.  As with all affiliated centers, its core principle is,  “all paths lead to God,” according to Om Senior Minister, Rev. Suzette Wehunt, “which means everyone is welcome at Om.”

Throughout the year, Om offers classes on meditation, world religions, “Foundations” – awakening to your own spiritual journey – as well as many other classes and activities on personal growth. “Om Center for Spiritual Living's purpose is to come from a place of Love, in an atmosphere of Learning, to encourage all who come through our doors to know they CAN create and have a better life," Rev. Suzette continued.

Om also offers community outreach programs and members are currently collecting 2,000 pairs of shoes that will serve people in need around the world. It is called Shoes with Heart. “Every pair of shoes is being cleaned up, refurbished, and is being prepared to be distributed to developing nations in need of reused shoes.  You’re invited to bring your old shoes to our Health Faire,” Rev. Suzette emphasized. “We are half way home, but still need another thousand pairs! Every pair of shoes helps!”

The Thanksgiving Health Faire and Open House will offer 30 minute sessions on Reiki, Massage and how to increase mobility, flexibility, strength and reduce pain in your neck, shoulders and back,  by donation. There will be seminar presentations on how to better care for yourself as well as your pets.  Vendors already committed include : Women’s Total Gym,  Adovocare,  Juice Plus, Love and Light Center, Lessons In Motion,  Massage by Joe D. and many more.

There is also time for a few more vendors and sponsors to participate in the Thanksgiving Health Faire and Open House at Om.  Please contact Reverend Suzette Wehunt at 858.213.7061 for details.
