September 18, 2017 (El Cajon) – A Hyundai driver traveling 40 miles an hour rear-ended a Toyota Camry stopped ahead of her as she exited southbound State Route 125 at Grossmont College Drive at 9:10 this morning. The impact pushed the Toyota across SR-125, directly into the path of a Chevy Impala traveling 65 miles an hour.

“The driver of the Chevy had no time to react as the front of the Chevy struck the driver’s side of the Toyota,” says Officer Kevin Pearlstein with the California Highway Patrol.

The Toyota driver, a 23-year-old El Cajon woman, had to be extricated from her vehicle and was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital with moderate to major injuries.  The Chevy Impala driver, a 49-year-old Spring Valley woman, was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 25-year-old San Diego woman, was not injured.

Drugs and or alcohol are not suspected in the crash.
