LA MESA COUNCIL CONSIDERS SPONSORSHIP OF CAR SHOW

May 24, 2016 (La Mesa) -- La Mesa City Council meets today at 6 p.m. in City Hall. 

The agenda includes a proposal for the city to take over sponsorship of the “Back to the 50s” car show, an event formerly organized and funded by the La Mesa Village Merchants Association.

Council will also weigh changes to parking requirements in the downtown commercial area, as well as  whether  to approve proposed transportation and street improvements.

LA MESA OFFFERS OUTDOOR CONCERTS AT SIX JUNE 12 - JULY 24

May 21, 2016 (La Mesa) – The City of La Mesa’s free family fun “Concerts at Six” series will be held once again in Harry Griffen Park (8550 Milden Street) each Sunday  evening from 6 to 7 p.m.   The season opens June 12 and runs through July 24.

May 18, 2016 (La Mesa) – Crime  Stoppers is offer a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of a couple caught on surveillance video at the Amaya Drive trolley station in la Mesa on March 28th.  They are suspected of using a credit card stolen from an unlocked parked car in Encinitas the night before.

POLICE SEEK MEN IN GREEN FORD EXPLORER SUSPECTED IN HOME INVASION MURDER AT SAN CARLOS HOME

May 13, 2016 (San Diego’s East County) – Brent Adler, 33, is dead of a gunshot wound after arriving at his San Carlos home and interrupting a home invasion robbery.  San Diego Police are seeking four or five men spotting fleeing the scene in the 8500 block of Tommy Drive in a green Ford Expedition Wednesday, May 11 around 2:50 p.m..

The victim suffered at least one gunshot wound to his upper body and was found dead in front of the residence.

May 10, 2016 (La Mesa) -- Aaron Spaulding, a 31-year-old La Mesa man has been arrested and charged with elder abuse of his 78-year-old neighbor. The incident prompted a stand-off with Sheriff’s deputies at the family’s home on Alta Mira Drive near Mount Helix for several hours Monday night.

May 5, 2016 (La Mesa) — La Mesa Police tried to stop a vehicle for an equipment violation in the Costco Parking lot this morning, but the suspect put his Toyota Camry into reverse quickly, causing officers to have to jump out of the way, according to an police. He fled, leading officers on a brief pursuit before he got out of the vehicle and ran behind businesses along Fletcher Parkway.
