March 4, 2023 (Scottsdale) - The Padres faced the Diamondbacks again today.  Reiss Knehr started against Brandon Pfaadt for Arizona.

Ketel Marte began the scoring for the Diamondbacks with a sac fly in the second that scored Pavin Smith and Arizona led 1-0 after two.

The Padres tied it in the fifth with Alfonso Rivas’ single that scored David Dahl.  With the bases loaded, Tim Lopes walked to score Brandon Dixon and Rougned Odor was hit by a pitch that scored Rivas from third and the Padres led 3-1 after five.

And the Diamondbacks slithered right back.  Geraldo Perdomo scored on a wild pitch in the seventh, Ali Sanchez singled to score Buddy Kennedy and Adrian Del Castillo hit a sac fly to score Josh Rojas and the Diamondbacks led 4-3 after seven.

Uis Campusano reclaimed the lead for the Padres on one swing of the bat in the eighth with a two-run bomb and the Padres prevailed with a 5-4 win.
