January 30, 2016 (Lakeside) – On Tuesday, February 2, the Lakeside Community Planning Group is expected to vote on over $250,000 in improvements to Lindo Lake Park. Final public comments will be heard from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the meeting in the Lakeside Community Center, 9841 Vine Street in Lakeside. After several community workshops, planning group members are set to approve a final design concept from among four plans considered.

The goals are to improve water quality and deepen the lake, stabilize slopes, reduce sediment and improve access for the disabled, as well as consider creation of a new crossing from the Lakeside Community Center to the historic boathouse. Other potential improvements include enhancement of walkways and trails, a dedicated fishing area, birdwatching areas and enhanced wildlife habitat.

Once approved, the plan will be sent to the San Diego County Board of Supervisors. The County has allotted $250,000 in general funds for the project to date.
