August 31, 2018 (San Diego) - San Diego County is vulnerable to many types of emergencies: fires, floods, and earthquakes just to name a few. These disasters can strike at any time, and we should all be prepared to keep ourselves, and our loved ones, safe. But a 2017 survey conducted by the County found only half of San Diego County residents are prepared to evacuate their homes within 15 minutes. Only 38 percent have an emergency plan.

Lyft drives impact of San Diego nonprofits through new Community Grant Program

January 24, 2018 (San Diego) -- Lyft, the fastest growing rideshare company in the U.S., today announced a new program to support the important work of San Diego area nonprofit organizations focused on building stronger, healthier, more equitable communities. Every month, starting in February 2018, Lyft will award one nonprofit $1,000 in Lyft ride credits to ease transportation challenges and support its work to create positive change in the San Diego region.

ASSEMBLY PASSES BILL TO BOOST TIPS FOR UBER AND LYFT DRIVERS

May 31, 2017 (Sacramento) – If you’re hailing a ride through a service such as Uber or Lyft, you may soon have an option to add a tip onto your credit card charge. A measure requiring ride-serving aps that take credit card payments to offer an option to add a tip passed the Assembly today by a 41-22 vote.  The measure, Assembly Bill 1099, was authored by Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher (D-San Diego).

March 13, 2017 (San Diego) -- Jewish Family Service of San Diego (JFS) has been awarded $70,000 by the San Diego Foundation’s Age Friendly Communities Program to help improve the quality of life for older adults in San Diego through On the Go Navigator – a new addition to JFS’s existing On the Go program.
