April 1, 2015 (City Heights) - Two mattresses were ignited in City Heights early Tuesday morning just before 1 a.m. A half hour later, a commercial garbage bin erupted into flames.

These are the latest in a string of a dozen or more fires in the past two weeks in City Heights that the Metro Arson Strike Team believes were intentionally set, Times of San Diego reports.

San Diego Fire and Rescue Captain Joe Amador says there have been some “close calls.” No arrests have yet been made.
