JAMUL ADDS PARAMEDICS TO FIRE ENGINES

March 30, 2015 (Jamul)—Jamul’s Fire Station now has paramedics on every fire engine. Starting in mid-March, Jamul has had three paramedics to provide advanced life support services that emergency medical technicians can’t provide—such as administering IV medications and defibrillation of heart attack patients.
The area has been served by a private paramedic service, but now if the private ambulance service is transportation a patient to a hospital, firefighter-paramedics will be able to respond quickly, Channel 6 News reports.
In addition, the Otay Mesa fire station has recently added three paramedics to help improve safety in the community.
