BYSTANDERS FLIP BURNING CAR, SAVE TEENS

April 15, 2015 (Spring Valley) – Three young people trapped in a burning car that flipped over after a crash in front of Monte Vista High School on Monday owe their lives to courageous bystanders.
The car hit a traffic light just a quarter of a mile from a Cal Fire Station in Spring Valley. As firefighters and paramedics approached the crash scene, they saw smoke and flames—and then witnessed an amazing sight. About 20 people were turning over the car, which had rolled onto its side. .Bystanders then pulled the driver and two passengers to safety.
Cal Fire Captain Kendal Bortisser said firefighters extinquished a blaze in the engine compartment, UT San Diego reports. The three occupants of the vehicle, all minors, were transported to a hospital with minor to moderate injuries.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
