READER’S EDITORIAL: AN OPEN LETTER TO SAN DIEGO MAYOR FAULCONER--NO ON SOCCER FIELD PROPOSAL
By Barry A. Treahy, Lakeside
Dear Mayor Faulconer:
March 25, 2017 (Lakeside) -- I am a native San Diego senior, who began my sport exposures at "Lane Field." I know you were never there and probably can't even relate to that ball field.
I have seen San Diego go through my share of stadiums, political extortion, political waste, tax payer purchase of tickets to subsidize sports etc.
I also have seen you supporting a soccer field to replace Qualcomm now that the Chargers have bolted.
Tell you what; why don't you talk with your Mexican counterpart seen on the City website shaking your hand, while millions of gallons of Mexican sewage spills into oceans and onto American beaches.
Ask him what he is going to do about it in this mode of cooperation you two reflected!
Mr. Mayor: This is as old as I am and no one has stepped up to the responsibility of Mexican pollutants polluting American oceans and soil.
That aside, as to my lifetime in San Diego, perhaps you best suggest to him at the same time to put the soccer field on the Mexican side of our border.
After all, soccer was not part of my sport and didn't even exist as a youth. I am dog tired of Mexican flags and choking on their dust kicked in my face by his fleeing countrymen/women into my country, America.
Add to the Trump legacy and make them pay for the sewer spill cleanup and resolution, border fence and soccer field in his famous Tijuana.
Arriba!
Barry A. Treahy
