March 30, 2018 (San Diego) – Despite California’s legalization of both recreational and medical marijuana, illegal dispensaries continue to crop up in many locations.  Buying products from an unlicensed dispensary could put consumers at greater risk of getting products that don’t comply with state standards for safety and purity.

Now there’s a free app called tökr that directs users to only legally licensed dispensaries in California.

According to the company, consumers can also get information on cannabis products that suit their specific health needs or lifestyle preferences. 

Tokr indicates it also works lab-tested brands shown to have quality and consistency, helping them to target customers.

“As cannabis in California transitions to adult-use this year, our focus is to build trust, brand loyalty and awareness, educating new and experienced consumers on effects for safe consumption and navigating them to legal dispensaries in full compliance with state regulation,” said tökr co-founder and CEO Matt Singer.

In 2018, tökr plans to expand to Colorado, Nevada, Washington and Oregon.
