January 18, 2019 (Dehesa) - The students of Dehesa School are anxiously awaiting their Chinese exchange students to arrive. In November 2018, Principal Heather Griffiths and Superintendent Nancy Hauer were invited to travel to China with the goal of partnering with a sister school. They were also asked to participate in the Transnational Educational Summit.
While in China, Dehesa’s administrators developed strong relationships with several schools. “They were extremely interested in our Computer Science Immersion Academy,” stated Nancy Hauer, Superintendent. “We signed several MOU’s as everyone was drawn to our small school with strong technology focus.”
The Dehesa administrators joined teams from Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. “It was an honor to be selected to represent the United States, along with teams from Cajon Valley and Cardiff,” stated Heather Griffiths.

Dehesa will be receiving their first exchange students on January 27th. Students will stay until February 9th. While they are here they will attend classes at Dehesa and stay with host families. Dehesa students will act as ambassadors assisting students while they are here.
Fifteen students and a teacher will travel to Dehesa. In return, Dehesa’s 8th grade students will be traveling to China, all expenses paid over spring break for their 8th grade trip. “We are very excited to offer our graduates this incredible opportunity!” Mrs. Hauer stated.
