June 9, 2019 (San Diego’s East County) – The National Weather Service has issued an extreme heat warning for San Diego County’s deserts from Tuesday morning through Wednesday, when high temperatures are forecast to reach 110 to 114 degrees.

Lows of 80 to 84 degrees are forecast at night.  On Monday, daytime temperatures are also expected to reach triple digits with low humidity, increasing fire danger as well as temperatures.

Excessive heat is also forecast in other desert communities outside San Diego County, including Indio, Palm Springs, La Quinta and Coachella.

To avoid heat stroke or heat exhaustion, stay indoors in an air-conditioned area if possible and rink plenty of fluids. Please check up on relatives and neighbors, particularly those who are elderly or disabled.

Beach areas will be cooler, with morning fog possible along the coast.
