THREAT OF VIOLENCE AT WEST HILLS HIGH

August 27, 2019 (Santee) – Late yesterday afternoon, the San Diego Sheriff’s Department and West Hills High School administration were notified about a student’s remark about a possible act of violence.
The student remark as heard by other students in class around 10:30 a.m.,” says Lt. Chris Steffen. “In conjunction with school staff and the school resource officer, this was swiftly and effectively handled by deputies.”
The 15-year-old student was identified, however no arrests have been made. No weapons were found.
In a letter sent to parents, principal Robin Ballarin wrote, “"We want to assure all in our school community of our unwavering commitment to safety and our immediate, thorough, and proactive response.”
“At this time there is no threat to school safety,” says Lt. Steffen, who adds that an investigation is continuing.
