Swarm may be Africanized “killer” bees

May 21, 2010 (San Diego’s East County) – A 68-year-old man has been attacked by bees in the 500 block of Tecate Road. According to Cal-Fire firefighters at the scene, the aggressive swarm may be Africanized bees.

Cal-Fire received a call at 4:50 p.m. When they arrived, the victim was still being stung. Firefighters put the man into a fire engine to remove him from the scene; a medical helicopter has been requested to transport him to a hospital.
