WINNER IN GOLDEN ARTISTRY JEWELRY DESIGN COMPETITION HAS CREATION ON DISPLAY AT FAIR

June 13, 2010 (La Mesa) –Danica Tsuchida, a Steele Canyon High School student, received the grand prize in the 2nd annual Golden Artistry Jewelry Design Competition in May, receiving a $1,000 scholarship to the California Institute of Jewelry Training and an internship at Golden Artistry in La Mesa.
Now, her fire-themed jewelry design (photo, right) has been produced in precious metals and gemstones (photo, left). Her winning creation is on display at the San Diego County Fair through July 5 in the Gems, Minerals and Jewelry exhibit.

The contest is sponsored by master goldsmith Terry White at Golden Artistry in La Mesa’s downtown village. Funds raised benefit Friends of East County Arts that funds art, drama and music programs in local schools as well as supporting local arts-based organizations.
Golden Artistry, located at 8346 La Mesa Blvd. in La Mesa, has provided custom jewelry and repairs since 1984.
