ongressional debate to follow Stop Powerlink events
September 25, 2010 (Lakeside) – A rally for San Diegans who oppose the Sunrise Powerlink will be held Saturday, September 25th in Lakeside. The rally will be held at Lindo Lake Park (by the pavilions near the playground) at 10 a.m., followed by a march through Main Street in downtown Lakeside.

The event is supported by the East County Community Action Coalition and organized by the Ray Lutz for Congress campaign. Lutz, founder of Citizens Oversight Projects (COPs) has been a leader in the battle to prevent San Diego Gas & Electric from building the proposed high-voltage Powerlink project in East County.
A candidate forum featuring Lutz, a Democrat, and Libertarian candidate Michael Benoit will take place at Lindo Lake Park at 1 p.m. ECM editor Miriam Raftery has agreed to moderate the debate. Rep. Duncan Hunter was also invited declined.
Hunter declined several other debates, but has agreed to debate Lutz and Benoit on September 15th at a debate sponsored by the East County Chamber of Commerce.
