AUTHORITIES SEEK YELLOW TRUCK IN REPORTED SEXUAL HARASSMENT INCIDENT
March 26, 2011 (Lyons Valley) – A teacher reports that she was approached by the driver of a bright yellow pick-up truck on Friday, March 25th at 9:30 a.m. while she was walking near the Lyons Valley Trading Post. She said the driver backed up and stopped, then asked “What color panties are you wearing?”
“Thinking I was hearing wrong, I asked `Excuse me?’ And he asked again, “What color panties are you wearing?’” the victim wrote in an e-mail sent to readers of the Deerhorn Valley Antler. “I replied, `Who the hell ARE you??!’ I walked away and he took off.”
She described the driver as young, probably in his late 20s, with light brown hair, cut short and wavy in front, clean shaven with fair skin.
A witness reports the same truck has been seen many times in the vicinity, suggesting that the driver may live in the area or visit there frequently. The victim said the truck may be a late-model Nissan.
“A neighbor said she saw a newer model yellow truck headed down Skyline Truck Trail,” the victim told East County Magazine in an e-mail. “She said she thought it was a Ford and not a Nissan.” She added that while she’s not certain of the model, “I would know it if I saw it And I’d know him if I saw him again.”
The incident has been reported to Deputy Slopye at the Sheriff’s department, she said, adding that deputies throughout the area were to be notified.
