May 6, 2011 (El Cajon) -- Main Street 5 Gallery (www.mainstreet5gallery.com) is presenting “Wonderful World of Watercolor,” an art event showcasing the work of 25 top names in watercolor painting. The show’s opening will be on Saturday, May 7, from 5-9 p.m.
The gallery is in the heart of downtown El Cajon at 124 East Main Street (in the rear of Glamour Girlz Boutique), and is owned and operated by local artist and promoter Esther Beish (www.eyesofesther.com).
Beish is an award-winning photographic artist in her own right, and is active and generous in her support of the burgeoning East County art scene. She envisions her art space as a local venue where emerging and under-represented area artists of all media can get their work exhibited, seen, appreciated and promoted.
But she also hosts more established artists, such as Chuck McPherson, the “Wizard of Watercolor.” McPherson has been instrumental in organizing and curating this upcoming watercolor event, as a master of the medium.
He and Esther have assembled the following distinguished group of award-winning “watermedia” artists from around the region: Drew Bandish, Nell Bartlett, Ally Benbrook, Beverly Berwick, Sue Blass, Betsy Brown, Carol Churchill, Loretta Deczynski, Roberta Dyer, Kate Fitzsimons, Elaine Harvey, Adam Koltz, Roberta Labastida, John G. Lee, Shuang Li, Lorri Lynch, June Maxion, Joan McKasson, Chuck McPherson, Kimberly Neary, Sandy Schneiders, Renee Sebring, Mark Smith, Jayne Spencer, Christine Waters and Jami Wright.
Esther and Chuck will be hosting the opening reception on Saturday, May 7 from 5-9 p.m.
You are invited to come join them for refreshments, meet the other artists and enjoy their work. All artwork on display will be for sale.
