October 13, 2011 (El Cajon) – Many East County residents have fond childhood memories of revving up at the Go Kart Track at the old Marshall Scotty’s facility. Now, 17 years after the site closed down, Go Kart riders will once again be able to take a victory lap.

Diecast Placars’ Canyon Raceway will celebrate a grand opening on November 5 from 1-9 p.m. at 14039 Ridge Hill Road in El Cajon (off the Lake Jennings exit from I-8 east).

“Canyon Raceway is excited to be opening…We can’t wait to relive the fun and share the excitement,” Carrie Ludeke, Canyon spokesperson, said of East County's only circular go-kart track. “See you at the Raceway!”
