MAN ROBBED AT GUNPOINT IN LA MESA PARK AND RIDE LOT
October 14, 2011 (La Mesa)—Two Hispanic men of medium build, wearing dark hooded sweatshirts and light bandanas over their faces, robbed a man at gunpoint tonight. The victim, 56, reported that he was sitting in his vehicle in the Park and Ride lot near Bancroft Drive and Fuerte Drive when the suspects’ vehicle, a dark four-door sedan, pulled up beside him.
San Diego Police met with the victim, who is a transient, at approximately 8:20 p.m. at the La Mesa Police Department. He told police that two men got out and one asked for cigarettes. When the victim said he didn’t have any cigarettes, the other man pointed a black revolver at the victim and demanded his wallet.
The suspect removed money, then dropped the wallet. The suspects fled east in their vehicle and were last seen driving east on I-8 from Fuerte Drive.
