December 26, 2010 (El Cajon) – San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce has named veteran business leader Scott Alevy as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1st.

Alevy, Principal at Trilogy PR Group in La Mesa, brings over 30 years of business, non-profit and Chamber of Commerce leadership experience to the largest business organization in East County. Alevy succeeds former El Cajon Police Chief Cliff Diamond, who has served as interim CEO since the departure of Mike Cully.

“We are excited about what Scott brings to our organization,” said Chamber Chair Roger Roberts. “He brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and ideas about how to lead a business organization, and he is committed to representing the interests of the East County business community. Working with our incoming chair, Joe Mackey, we look forward to a great start to 2011.”

Alevy is a former Chula Vista City Councilman, led public policy and communications at the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, and was External Affairs Director for AT&T-SBC-Pacific Bell. He has served in volunteer leadership positions for many years for chambers of commerce, a regional economic development council, charitable organizations and the San Diego Bowl Game Association. He is a military veteran who served with the American Forces Broadcasting Service, and resides in Blossom Valley.

The East County Chamber of Commerce has just under 700 member companies from the cities of El Cajon, La Mesa, Santee, Lemon Grove and the communities of Alpine, Lakeside, Rancho San Diego, Blossom Valley and Spring Valley.
