October 4, 2016 (San Francisco) - San Diego State forward Travis Nicklaw (San Diego, Calif.) earned his second straight Pac-12 Men’s Soccer Player of the Week award after propelling the Aztecs to thrilling 1-0 overtime victory at home over No. 16 Washington on Oct. 2, as announced Tuesday by the league office.

With his honor, the Aztec redshirt senior collected SDSU’s fourth conference weekly honor already this season, joining goalkeeper Adam Allmaras (Sept. 6) and Jeroen Meefout (Sept. 13).

Nicklaw delivered his third match-winning tally of the season after recording the golden goal in the second minute of overtime on Sunday against the Huskies. With his score, the San Diego native and University City High product is now tied for 10th in the nation with three game-winning goals, including decisive strikes against No. 1 Akron on Sept. 2, and San Diego on Sept. 25.

Nicklaw led the Aztecs with eight shots on the weekend, launching four attempts apiece in matches vs. Oregon State and Washington, helping SDSU to a 1-0-1 start in Pac-12 play.  After missing the first two matches of the season, he has amassed 18 shots on the year, including seven on goal.

San Diego State (6-1-3), which vaulted nine places into the No. 13 position in the latest NSCAA Division I poll, will square off against 19th-ranked UCLA (5-3-1, 1-1 Pac-12) on Saturday, Oct. 8, starting at 7 p.m. PT.  Admission is free and the match will be streamed live on GoAztecs.com.
